Skin test Protocol
New Allergy information Updated
2nd July 2023

Loreal & nhbf protocal for skin testing
The skin test must be left on for 48 hours without washing, covering or touching.
(if you wash off the skin test- it will be voided and need to redone again)
If during this time you notice any itching, burning or swelling. Wash off immediately with cold water and seek medical advice. Anaphylactic shock is no joke and can be life threatening, you can have a delayed reaction up to 48 hours after a colour service and patch test.
The skin test will be put on the skin behind the ear with a cotton bud, if you are unsure about what colour to have two tests will be done- one behind each ear.
If for any reason the stylist feels that you have not followed the above instructions, your appointment may not go ahead and will be booked again for a later date.
The skin test area will be checked again on the day of the appointment for any irritation or reaction.
Once the protocol has been put in place and the skin test is done it is down to YOU to inform us if you have any reaction. We take our public liability insurance very seriously.

On your visit to the salon- A questionnaire will be handed to you to read and sign. This will then be stored for future reference.
